I lent money from XXXX XXXX and then hired XXXX XXXX XXXX, a payday loan debt management company, to help manage my payday loan debt. XXXX XXXX XXXX and I both sent XXXX XXXX a cease and desist order. So what XXXX XXXX did to get around that was to sell the debt to MetaCorp, LLC, who hired a skip tracer, XXXX XXXX to find me who violated that cease and desist order in reference to the regulations for skip tracing/private investigation set forth by Colorado XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I contacted the XXXX XXXX XXXX about XXXX XXXX and they are now obeying the cease and desist order and have informed MetaCorp, LLC. I was informed a few months ago by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that the debt was paid off. All in all, it seems that MetaCorp, LLC does not care about abiding by the legal cease and desist order. The XXXX XXXX XXXX said the matter was resolved even though clearly it is not. The Consumer Protection Unit for Colorado Attorney General XXXX XXXX XXXX communicated it was your problem and not theirs.

This company sent me text messages on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX with a vague message about trying to contact me about a debt. When I responded to them they immediately asked for my full name, Last 4 of social, date of birth, and address. Basically, everything one needs to steal my identity. I informed them that they should send any bills to my address. Not hard to find. Its public information. They continue to refuse sending me any written communication about the debt unless I give them all my personal information.
Today, they left a message on my cell phone. They then proceeded to call any and everybody Ive been in contact with. My in laws, my brother, my old work friend from years ago, and who knows how many other people that havent reached out to me yet. I called and spoke with somebody at the office of Metacorp LLC in XXXX, NY who again wanted me to freely give up all my personal information. She adamantly refused to even identify herself as a debt collector unless I gave up all said personal information to a complete stranger. They refused again to send me a notice of the debt by mail.
If this is a valid tactic and a valid company it is no wonder Americans continue to get their identities stolen. They are so harassing and embarrassing to people that they just want it to stop and give out personal info. I was under the impression this company is required by law to send me a written notification of said debt. Isnt XXXX XXXX from MetaCorp required to identify herself as a debt collector? She straight up refused. How is any of this legal?
Not to mention this company has a somewhat shady history according to the internet. Are they really buying up non-legally binding debt for Pennies on the dollar and then illegally harassing consumers who arent aware of their rights? This is so shameful. This company needs to be stopped.
