29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person (i.e., a person who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them): Howell Custom Builders Inc, at 155 Peakview Drive, Berthoud, CO: On 4/18/12 Howell Custom Builders Inc did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person (i.e., a person who is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to employees, and who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them). Employees of True Built Custom Builders Inc and Howell Custom Builders Inc were installing exterior sheathing on the second level of a residential structure. An employee utilized a ladder to access the first floor's roof. An employee worked upon a platform elevated by a rough terrain forklift. The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program that provided for inspections of the jobsite. This condition exposed an employee of Howell Custom Builders Inc to an approximate eleven foot fall hazard. |
