On or before June 13, 2012, the exposing employer did not ensure that each employee performing road work activities within the Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) Work zone was wearing warning vest or other suitable garments marked with or made of reflectorized or high-visibility material. This condition exposed employees to the hazard of being struck-by moving vehicular traffic traveling at approximately 35-40 mph. (1) The hazard of being struck-by moving vehicles while working along the lane Work Zone without wearing high-visibility reflective vests. Among others, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure that each employee who works in traffic work zones wears suitable vests such as those that meet the specifications for reflective materials r ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 STANDARD.
